How to calculate the dimensions of a suitcase

Common Suitcase Sizes:

(Length, width, and height dimensions are for reference only. Different brands may have slightly different suitcase sizes; the sum of the three sides is primarily used for judgment.)

16-inch Suitcase Size: 31cm*43cm*13cm

17-inch Suitcase Size: 32cm*45cm*18cm

18-inch Suitcase Size: 34cm*44cm*20cm

20-inch Suitcase Size: 34cm*50cm*20cm

22-inch Suitcase Size: 39cm*58cm*24cm

24-inch Suitcase Size: 42cm*68cm*26cm

28-inch Suitcase Size: 47cm*78cm*28cm

32-inch Suitcase Size: 53cm*88cm*30cm

For air travel, common carry-on suitcase sizes (three sides refer to length, width, and height):

18-inch: Size suitable for carry-on (international carry-on size within 115CM), suitable for one person's trip of about 4 days.

0-inch: Suitable for one person's trip of about 7 days. A 20-inch suitcase refers to the sum of the length, width, and height not exceeding 115cm, allowing it to be carried onto the plane. The most common size for a 20-inch suitcase is 50cm(L) x 34cm(W) x 20cm(H), appearing compact and exquisite.

22-inch: Must be checked in, suitable for one person's trip of about 7-10 days.

24-inch: Must be checked in, suitable for two people's trip of about 7 days. A 24-inch suitcase refers to the sum of the length, width, and height not exceeding 135cm, which is the standard carry-on size stipulated by airlines. The most common size for a 24-inch suitcase is 60cm(L) x 38cm(W) x 28cm(H), making it the most commonly used suitcase with a moderate capacity. It is the most common and suitable suitcase for most people.

26-inch: Must be checked in, suitable for two people's trip of about half a month.

28-inch: Must be checked in, suitable for families or those shopping extensively in Hong Kong. A 28-inch suitcase refers to the sum of the length, width, and height not exceeding 158cm, which is the standard size for a 28-inch carry-on suitcase. The most common size for a 28-inch suitcase is 70cm(L) x 48cm(W) x 30cm(H), offering a large capacity, suitable for frequent business travelers.

30-inch: Must be checked in, suitable for families or those traveling abroad or shopping extensively in Hong Kong. 30 inches is the free checked baggage size internationally, with a sum of three sides of 158CM.

32-inch: Refers to the sum of the length, width, and height not exceeding 195cm, which is the standard size for carry-on suitcases stipulated by domestic airlines. There are no very common sizes for 32-inch suitcases, and most need to be custom-made. Currently, only Samsonite suitcases internationally have this size. 32-inch suitcases are most suitable for long-distance travel or self-driving tours.
